The annual Kohala Coutry Fair is the largest fair on the Big Island, and it has grown even larger in 2011 and moved to a new ten-acre location in Kapa’au. This year a variety of locally-made traditional fare will be available to tempt your taste buds. Award-winning musicians and dancers will perform throughout the day including such acts as Positive Motion, North Shore Live, Mystik Rhythmz, and many more. Local artists will be exhibiting their work alongside over eighty food and craft vendors. But best of all there will be a spam sculpture carving event.
For the kids, the keiki fun zone offers carnival games and entertaining activities. The adventurous can try out the bungee trampoline, the rock climbing wall, or the Fish Pipe Fun. The artistically inclined can head over to the face painting booth, the air-brush tattoo artist, or the Hic Cup Circus. There will also be old favorites such as a petting zoo and pony cart ride.
So, come out on Saturday, October 1, 2011 from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM and experience an authentic and exciting Hawaiian fair that you and your family won’t soon forget.
Admission and parking is FREE, although donation to help support the fair are welcome. If you’d like to view a performance schedule or get directions to the Kohala Country Fair, have a look at their website, www.kohalacountryfair.com.
